Characteristics and advantages of round tubular columns (steel tubular columns)
Round tubular columns are made from seamless or welded steel tubes as the core element, with the addition of stiffeners, cantilevers and other welded parts. Due to the isotropic properties of the closed circular section, they provide equal stiffness and equal strength in two directions, and have excellent resistance to torsion, bending and horizontal displacement. Their drag coefficient is significantly lower than that of I-beam and box columns, which can effectively reduce the impact of high wind loads. They are an ideal choice for high-rise and long-span buildings.
Flexible production of pipe diameter, wall thickness and column height is possible according to project loads and seismic resistance level, adapting to various high load scenarios such as heavy industrial workshops, bridges and others. The base steel grade Q355B is used, with the possibility of replacing it with high-viscosity grades such as Q420B, in combination with automated welding and non-destructive testing by ultrasonic and magnetic particle flaw detection, which ensures the safety of the structure. The entire production process strictly complies with the state standard GB 50205, and an anti-corrosion coating is provided with a service life of more than 15 years, ensuring durability and reliability.
According to operational characteristics:torsion resistance is 5-8 times higher than that of I-beam columns, can withstand extremely heavy loads of over 100 tons, have high structural stability and an aesthetic appearance. In terms of costs: the cost of the foundation is reduced by more than 30 percent compared to box or reinforced concrete columns, installation time is reduced by more than 60 percent. Modular production, assembly in sections, low operating costs, 100% recyclable. Widely used in industrial workshops, high-rise buildings, structures and bridges, being the optimal solution for main load-bearing structures under conditions of high loads and high wind influences.
